Wintertime

Wintertime

A single, solitary snowflake

Twirling and fluttering down,

To land softly and gently

On a willow tree bough.

Gliding over the fields,

Footsteps silenced in snow

A quiet, calm journey

In a shining winter world.

Flying down the hills

On a red wooden sled,

Flying across the ice

On powder-blue skates.

Tumbling into the kitchen

Surrounded by friends.

Curling up by the fire

With a blanket and old book.
