Venison, sweet, with blood-red wine
Mystic wizards of ancient line
Wise old monks in woolen hoods
Fairy Kings in deep green woods
A golden cup to heal all ills
Loathsome things among the hills.
Arthur faces Mordred le mal,
Roland Stands at Roncesvalles.
You say the modern day’s unfurled?
I’ll take my stand in the older world.
