Movie Review of Last Holiday 2006

The 2006 film production of Last Holiday, starring Queen Latifah, (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Last_Holiday_(2006_film)), is one that I could watch time and again, no matter the time of year. In this film, Queen Latifah plays a woman who has been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour, who decides to do everything that she’s dreamed of doing before she dies. The subject matter may sound dark, but it is done in a surprisingly fun and upbeat way.

It has a wonderful array of characters, who she meets over the course of her adventures, changing their hearts and minds, and giving them a new perspective on the importance of not taking anything in life for granted. It also has a series of funny life twists and turns that prove serendipitous, and give the main character the chance to come out of her shell and truly say what she should have said all along.

This heart-warming film has a lovely Christmassy feel about it, and always makes me feel cheerful and full of joy – perfect to get you in that Christmas mood. Comedy, romance, and drama, this film really does have it all, and I always seem to forget how much I enjoy it, until I watch it again.

I would highly recommend this movie. It really does uplift your spirits and puts things in perspective. Although the blurb for this film is enough to put you off watching it, as it makes it sound like a depressing film, it has a really heart-warming ending, so stick with it.

I hope that you enjoy this film as much as I do, and Merry Christmas.
