Dear Father Winter
I hope that you are well, and that you are looking forward to the festive season. Thank you for the beautiful apple tree that you gave me last winter solstice, it has already grown so much. I often spend my time with it; telling it my secrets, hopes, and dreams – escaping from the confines of my life for what precious time that I can.
For this season, if you are possibly able, please could you bring me love. I’ve read about dashing heroes in many of my books, and would dearly wish to have that rush of true love for my very own – someone who captures my heart, and we can share in true loves kiss.
My mother never lets me speak to anyone, always manipulating and planning my life for me – controlling me with her magic and not allowing me to freely talk with anyone she doesn’t approve of. I see the way that she treats daddy as well, and although he still stays and says he loves his family, I know he’s not truly happy; he only does it for me.
If I could have a handsome gentleman who could sweep me off my feet and take me away from this place, we could live happily ever after (and daddy would finally be free to leave her too). I don’t care who he is or what he does for a living, so long as he is kind and can take me away from this awful place so that I can finally be free.
I know that this is a huge request, but it’s all that my heart truly desires in this world. Someone who loves me deeply with all his heart and cares for me. Someone who would do anything just to make me smile, who loves animals, who is brave and strong, but also kind and generous. A true soul, who makes my heart flutter whenever he’s near, and knows just what to say when I’m sad.
If you could do this for me, I would never want for anything else, so long as I live.
Yours sincerely and ever hopefully.
