“Omnes enim peccaverunt et egent gloriam Dei”
When a man is arrested by an occupying force,
imprisoned by an occupying force,
humiliated by an occupying force,
beaten and whipped by an occupying force,
stripped naked and jeered at by an occupying force,
tortured to death by an occupying force;
he can be forgiven intemperate words
screamed out in the last agony of death.
