Unheard Voices

Unheard Voices

By Kateri Athanasius

Word Count: 129

Rating: G

Summary: A plea for those who cannot plead

The voices unheard

Cries go by

The silent ones

Sentenced to die

Sentenced to die

They did nothing wrong

Yet killing them

Brings little alarm

Brings little alarm

To so many in this world

For they don’t care

Since the voices aren’t heard

Since the voices aren’t heard

We must not ignore

Thousands agree

They deserve more

They deserve more

Than just being a choice

For they are loved

We are their voice

We are their voice

And will stand hand in hand

Changing the tide

Taking over the land

Taking over the land

With steps, large and small

Together we stand

This law shall fall.

This law shall fall

And then we’ll rejoice

The unborn will be saved

They aren’t just a “choice”
