Summary: A woman morns for her love.

Today the sky was blue, and you showed me the colour of the clouds on your side of heaven,
Today the air was perfumed by you and my memories of us.
I lay awake watching the morning describe itself in the pattern of the curtain shadows
And come noon, I watched my clock stand still as it does on each betwixt hour
Waiting for me to say “Yes, I know you are here”, in a lover’s whisper.
This evening the Moon is shining with secrets I’m just starting to name, secrets you know.
The stars are your eyes, the breeze your fingers, gentle, on my cheek.
I feel you standing beside me more surely than I sense the solid earth under my feet,
And come midnight, my heart will stand still as it does whenever you’re close,
Waiting for you to reach out, to say “I’m always with you, don’t you know that?”
And then I can go on, until the next time…
Until the last time…
Until we walk away together.
