Winter Wind

Winter Wind

Alone in the forest
Complete solitude.
Away from the noise.
Brief interlude.

Cold bite of winter.
Snow on the ground.
No living creature.
Just nature’s sound.

Through leafless trees.
I then hear the wind.
A feeling of calm.
Peace deep within.

The sound is transporting.
A low crescendo.
Barely a whisper.
Something I know.

It speaks to my being.
Ears cannot hear it.
Felt in my soul.
Perceived in my spirit.

God’s holy breathing.
A deep quickening.
Bathed by the pneuma.
New christening.

Echoes of Eden.
Stirs memory inborn.
True place of belonging.
No longer forlorn.

Deep seeded emotion.
Not sentimental.
Nature’s true beauty.
It’s transcendental.

For this brief moment.
Framing creation.
At-one-ment and whole.
Complete integration.

Transported away.
Tranquility.
Time outside time.
Eternity.

Wind blows where it will.
Everywhere present.
I want to hang on.
But it’s evanescent.

The moment won’t last.
Kairos fades away.
Chronos returns.
I long to stay.

I take a deep breath.
Glad I could see.
Through the soul’s eyes.
Reality.

Alone in the forest.
The wind in my face.
Continue my walk.
Moving with grace.
