Norway

Norway

Crisp white snow, so deep and cold,
crunches softly under your boots.
Icicles dangle from cliffs and rooves,
large and crystalline; they sparkle in the sun.
Husky sleds and snowmobile rides
across the snow covered frozen Fjords.
The trees burdened by blankets of snow;
limbs drooping under their frosty weight.
Pristine valleys of white and blue,
unmarked by the passing of man.
The skies; vast, clear, and bright,
glow different hues of pink and gold.
Cabins glow warmly in the distance,
a beckoning light offering shelter from the cold.
The chill air as you venture outside
creeps its way through layers of clothes.
The soft silence of this slumbering world,
as animals sleep, and steps are silenced.
As if this wintery landscape were not beautiful enough,
then darkness falls and a show emerges.
Greens and blues that dance and shine
across the vastness of a star lit sky,
paint their picture and weave a story;
awe inspiring, their dance is eternal.
