Summary: An immortal being searches his soul.

The silence is there, ever inviting us to stay in the midst of the darkest days.

As I sit quietly, thinking of my life, wondering what I did to only dream of the night?
Ever alone, waiting to see what this life has to offer me,
I close my eyes and visualize the strength I had, to stand and survive,
Against the odds, always stacked against me,
And wonder, every night, what destiny has set for me?
Wanting and wishing for something more than to be alone for an eternity,
Hiding behind the mask of names which conceal my immortality
As if it were a curse upon this plane.
For most do not see and will never know, the pain of living a life so long, so cold and so alone. Wishing again and again for the night to end
And never having to sit in remembrance of all of the time spent
Hoping and searching for someone to share things with…

Some things in life can never be explained, no matter how many questions are asked,
I gave up a long time ago, but somehow the thoughts never fade away,
The memories are always there haunting me, as I try to sleep
Always asking, why do I always survive?
Maybe soon I will find out, maybe not,
But always, I will remain alone in my mind, never to show anyone the truth,
Always to hide and forever unknown…

For some, life is ever changing,
For others, only the names and the disguises change…
